The big 3

This is my "baby" Tommy. His full name is Thomas Eugene Santos. Believe it or not he was named after a Star Trek character (bonus points if you can guess who and from which series). Anywho, tomorrow is his third birthday so we'll be taking him down to Applebees so he can have his balloon, his favorite meal (mac N cheese) and of course one of them chocolate cakes because he LOOOOOOOOVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEs chocolate

Here are some pictures of my oldest son, Roman. He is 5 but turns 6 in April. He loves to have his picture taken and is an extremely talented artist. As you can see he is just an all around happy little boy.

My ex hates this shirt because she says she hates having her children be walking billboards--so I went and bought a Gap sweatshirt too!!

This past week I spent a bit of time on the internet. I have a facebook profile and so I decided to look people up. Currently most of my links are to students and former students. I find that sending out announcements often is easier if I just post it to facebook since they usually check that more often than they do their school emails. Anyways I looked up old friends and was very lucky in that I was able to find at least a dozen people that I had lost touch with. If you don't have a facebook profile or even a myspace, I highly recommend it , they each have their drawbacks and benefits so I keep both. But be warned, it can be addictive :(

Ok so I spent the better part of the last week taking care of my kids. My daughter had a stomach flu and was kind enough to pass it on to daddy. I've been puking all day. I just thought you would like to know.

OK so after complaining about the driving abilities of New Yorkers I went and did a bonehead thing. As I pulled into my driveway I got too close to the edge and my car slipped off into the snow. The harder I tried to get out the further I slipped in.I guess I am now an official New Yorker

Natasha Senecal

I have a really good friend named Natasha who I met while I was working on my Masters at SDSU--she knows both my ex and myself. She is one of the few people that I have been able to talk to throughout this whole divorce bit and she happens to be a VERY talented musician. Well after a long night of sharing n stuff on the phone she wrote a song for me that basically expressed what I felt at the time--here is the chorus:

Old Intro

I spend quite a bit of time on my computer when I should be working so I figured this is at least semi productive right?I have 2 good friends from my past who keep blogs and I enjoy logging on and reading what is up with them so I figured this would serve as an update on my life to those who may care.I am originally from Southern California but I now live in Upstate New York. I am a Spanish professor at a local community college, a job that I thoroughly enjoy. At times I cannot believe that I actually get paid to do what I do. I teach which I love, I get to meet new people, I get time to do things that I enjoy, people think I must know a lot, so yeah it's a sweet deal.I am currently going through a divorce, after 7+ years of marriage and 3 kids my wife up and tells me one day that she is a lesbian--yup she only married me hoping that being with a man would help her get "over it" well it didn't so now I found myself back into this wonderful and confusing thing that is known as dating. At times I feel like Ross from "Friends"--of course this ain't as funny. Actually even though I still hurt my ex and I are good friends. We agreed that we would do what is best for the kids and set our feelings aside. Turns out we are actually pretty good friends (we sometimes even check out girls together) and I find that aside from the kids, we still have a lot to talk about and share with each other, which has been nice. As a matter of fact I picked out her outfit for her date last night :)Probably the best things that I have from all this are my children. I have three amazing kids; my daughter Rachel turns 7 this week, My son Roman is 5, and the baby Tommy will be 3 at the end of January.
